Office of Special Education
The Office of Special Education is committed to providing quality services for the students of Richmond County found eligible for special education services though the eligibility process.
The Special Education process can be very confusing and daunting. The Special Education Office will be glad to answer any questions about the process, beginning with Child Find as well as provide hard copies of the resources referenced on this page. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)
The Richmond County SEAC meets quarterly during the school year. We are always looking for new members, suggestions for improvement or information sessions, or those just looking to see what we are all about. The major purpose of the SEAC is to provide an opportunity for parents and other school board appointees to have a voice in the way school divisions provide services to students with disabilities. SEACs are extensions of local school boards since members are appointed by them, and SEACs provide reports and recommendations to their school boards. If you have an interest in serving on the SEAC, please contact Dr. Sandra Hedrick or your child’s principal. Dates of the meetings for the 2017-2018 School Year will be posted when they are determined.
