Richmond County Public Schools is exploring current grading policies to determine if any changes are necessary. The committee is composed of teachers, administrators, parents, central office staff and a school board member. The topics to be addressed are:
- Current grade scale
- Standards based versus traditional report cards in K-2
- Zeros and student accountability
- Weighting of high school grades
- Grade requirements for sports participation
The committee will make recommendations to the School Board in the spring of 2014 after examining current research and gathering input from parents, teachers and other community stake holders.
