Welcome to the Richmond County Public Schools website. The school system is located in beautiful Richmond County and the schools are located in Warsaw, Virginia. RCPS is one of the top school districts in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We are proud of our many traditions and accomplishments and have a strong record of academic achievements.

A great education is the cornerstone of Richmond County. It is why families live and businesses choose to locate in Richmond County. Our community and schools work collaboratively and support each other. The community also supports our many outreach programs such as the Richmond County Education Foundation and the RHS Athletic Boosters.

RCPS believes that success in schools goes beyond test scores, and that is why we work closely with our staff and parents to provide an environment that is centered on the individual needs of every student. Richmond County public schools offers classes and programs beyond the basics, including but not limited to Advanced Placement (AP) courses, dual enrollment courses, career and technical programs at the Northern Neck Technical Center, and advanced courses at the Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School.

RCPS believes in having high achieving activities for our students including theatre, the arts, ROTC, athletics, music, and much more. Our athletic teams are highly competitive across the district, region, and state levels. We have an outstanding state ranked theatre program and we offer various musical opportunities such as the RHS marching band and the RHS pep band.
