Information about the TJ Memorial Run Scholarship

Todd Jewell was a long time Richmond County resident. Todd and his wife, Dawn, and their three sons, Matthew, Josh, and Jacob are all graduates of Rappahannock High School. In 2020, the Inaugural TJ Memorial 5K walk/run was established to honor Todd who was an avid cyclist and runner. Proceeds from that race were donated to the RHS track fund in Todd's memory. The Jewell family wanted to continue honoring Todd's memory by establishing the Michael Todd Jewell Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship will benefit a graduating senior(s) from Rappahannock who intends to continue their education in the field by gaining employment, attend a career or technical school, or attend college with a workforce industry curriculum.

The 2021 TJ Memorial Run raised $6,824.70 through donations and race participants. The 2022 TJ Memorial Run raised $9014.18. The race is always run through the town of Warsaw and those funds help to support student scholarships and classroom grants.

Each year, the TJ Memorial Run is organized to fundraise for the Richmond County Education Foundation. The 2023 TJ Memorial Run has not yet been organized and a date hasn't been set yet.
