Office of Special Education

 The Office of Special Education is committed to providing quality services for the students of Richmond County found eligible for special education services though the eligibility process.

 The Special Education process can be very confusing and daunting. The Special Education Office will be glad to answer any questions about the process, beginning with Child Find as well as provide hard copies of the resources referenced on the resources page. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. 

 

Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)

The Richmond County SEAC meets quarterly during the school year. We are always looking for new members, suggestions for improvement or information sessions, or those just looking to see what we are all about. The major purpose of the SEAC is to provide an opportunity for parents and other school board appointees to have a voice in the way school divisions provide services to students with disabilities.  SEACs are extensions of local school boards as members are appointed by the boards. SEACs may provide reports and recommendations to their school boards. If you have an interest in serving on the SEAC, please contact Mallory Ward or your child’s principal. Dates of the meetings for the 2024-2025 School Year are below:

Homeschooling and Private School meeting will be:

 March 10, 2025 

All meetings will begin at 3:30PM, and will be at the Richmond County School Board Office.
