COVID Update - Governor Youngkin's Executive Order Number Two

Good evening Richmond County Parents, Students, and Community,

As you may be aware, newly elected Governor Glenn Youngkin signed an executive order to remove the current mask mandate. This executive order (see attachment EO-2) will go into effect on Monday January 24th, 2022. Richmond County Public Schools will modify the current COVID-19 protocols and send out additional guidance to our educational community later this week.

Richmond County Public Schools will continue to follow the current COVID-19 protocols for this school week. This means students and staff will continue to wear a mask and keep a safe distance. The safety of our staff and students are our top priority. Please remember to monitor your child’s health, have them stay home if they are sick, and continue to hand sanitize.

This week we will modify our best practices that may include changes to safety protocols, instruction, sanitizing and disinfecting, transportation, and activities. We want to provide students and staff the safest instructional environment possible.
